How the Price War works
A fair, energetic local shopping game — real inventory, a real rotating price, and no fake urgency.
It runs in Panola and Rusk County during Beta, with local pickup in Carthage, Henderson, Tatum and the towns between. Ten more East Texas counties are on the waitlist.
1. Choose a live item or service
Each Price War has a real quantity limit and runs for up to 24 hours.
2. Watch the price cycle
Three posted prices rotate every two minutes. The clock and price are controlled by the server so everyone sees the same active price.
3. Lock and checkout
Sign in or create an account, select your quantity, and press Lock This Price & Checkout. If inventory is still available, we temporarily reserve your quantity and open secure Stripe checkout at that locked unit price.
4. Pay before your hold expires
Your locked price and quantity are held only for the time shown at checkout. If the hold expires before payment completes, the items return to availability and a new attempt uses the current price.
5. Pick up locally or redeem your service
Physical items are pickup-only. Your paid receipt shows the pickup date, location, hours, and instructions. Services include their own redemption instructions.
Important fairness notice
- The viewer count does not guarantee an item will remain available. One viewer may purchase more than one unit, and another buyer may complete a reservation first.
- Inventory is secured only after the system confirms your reservation, and the order is final only after successful payment.
- The two-minute price window may end after checkout starts, but your reserved checkout keeps its locked price until your reservation expires.
Price Bid War Challenges
When another buyer locks in a price, you can challenge them and steal their deal. Price Bid War Challenges require a one-time $9.99 perk subscription — only subscribers can initiate or join a challenge.
- A challenge starts a live bidding war with a 60-second clock (extended to 5 minutes if the defender hasn't subscribed yet, giving them time to buy the perk and defend).
- If your locked price is challenged and you haven't subscribed, you have 5 minutes to buy the perk and defend — act fast, because other bidders may Tap Out and end the challenge early.
- If you subscribe too late and bidding has already closed, you keep your perk for future challenges.
